Bridal showers are a necessary part of the wedding culture. Friends and family alike will bring out gifts for the bride to equip her home so as to be ready for the big occasion. In any event, favors are given out to the guests. They are simply a way of saying thanks and showing gratitude for their thoughtfulness.

When you were growing up, you will tend to see your aunts or your mother’s friend rushing here and there in the kitchen. With the constant word “wedding” being uttered by them, you were too young to understand what was happening. The maid/matron of honor would normally be responsible for the bridal shower. Relatives are not encouraged to host it as it may appear that the family is asking for gifts from the guests.

Bridal shower normally centers around themes, similar to wedding themes but more specific. A popular choice among all is none other than the kitchen theme favor. Many new brides could not even make a perfect plate of macaroni and cheese. During the shower, her friends would bring along cooking utensils for her.

There are other gifts to give to the bride. One of the bride’s favorite is the lingerie themed shower. This may be the highlight of the night. With tonnes of sexy nighties and naughty looking bra’s, the bride would be feeling sexy and looking forward for the wedding night. And the nights after that.

Bridal shower favors are a way of saying thank you for the gifts. It is also known as a “return gift” for the many gifts the guests brought to bestow the home. It need not be expensive because it is a gesture of appreciation and thoughtfulness. Shower favors may be as simple as wrapped candies or pieces of chocolates.

Weddings are sometimes quite scary and it is the responsibility of the friends to help her to get through it. Favors are words of thanks and gratitude for their help.
